President

Motter is a professional harpist. She graduated from the University of Washington School of Music. She has performed with the Seattle Symphony, Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra and Seattle Opera. She was principal harpist with the Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra for eight years and with the Tacoma Symphony Orchestra for ten years. Motter has been president of the Seattle Musicians’ Association since 2001. Prior to her election as president, she served as the local’s secretary-treasurer for seven years. She is also a trustee for the King County Labor Council and has served on it's executive board for the past eight years.

Vice President

Joan Sandler, violin, received a BA degree in music from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.  She did graduate study at American University in Washington, D.C.  Her teachers have included Irwin Eisenberg of the Philadelphia String Quartet and Joyce Ramee, University of Puget Sound.  She has played in orchestras in Washington, D.C. the San Francisco Bay Area and locally with the Broadway Symphony and Seattle Philharmonic Orchestras.  In addition to maintaining a private teaching studio, she freelances in the Puget sound area, specializing in chamber music.  She is a member of the Meridian Piano Trio and the D'Nyce String Trio.

Secretary-Treasurer

Warren is a trumpet player. He graduated from the University of Washington with a music degree and subsequently a teaching credential. Warren has performed professionally in a variety of musical settings including, orchestras, theaters, chamber ensembles and folk ensembles. He has served as Secretary-Treasurer of Local 76-493 since 2003. Consequently, he has been a delegate to the AFM Convention, the AFM's Northwest and Western Conferences, and the King County Labor Council.

    Principal flutist for the Bellevue Philharmonic, Kirsten has been a featured soloist 3 times and also performs with the BPO woodwind quintet, giving educational concerts to thousands of elementary school children each year. She has played principal flute and piccolo for the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra, piccolo for the Seattle Opera Orchestra, principal flute for the Auburn Symphony and piccolo for the Bellingham Festival of Music. Additionally, Kirsten doubles on the saxophone and has played shows at the Paramount Theatre and the 5th Avenue Theatre in such shows as: Into the Woods, Evita and The Scarlet Pimpernel. Currently, Kirsten is the personnel manager for the Bellevue Philharmonic and a contractor for the Seattle Choral Company orchestra and has been on the negotiating committees for the Paramount Theatre, Bellevue Philharmonic and Tacoma Symphony. When she’s not playing music, Kirsten is an avid hiker, wild mushroom hunter and huckleberry forager.
